Free Hypnobirthing provides free hypnosis MP3 recordings for a natural, drug-free
and empowered pregnancy, birth and postnatal period.
All recordings and information have been produced or compiled by a qualified and
experienced hypnotherapist and doula and have been tested for effectiveness in group
and individual settings.
Hypnobirthing uses hypnosis which is a very safe technique and no deep therapy such
as regression to childhood, is used in any recordings on this site. However, before
trying out any of the materials, please read the Free Hypnobirthing Safety Statement
as there are some health conditions that require that the sufferer seeks advice
from their doctor beforehand.
The aim of this website is to reach those of you who are not able to, or prefer not
to attend hypnobirthing classes for one reason or another. Maybe there are none
available in your area or maybe they are too expensive. Or perhaps you just want
the convenience of being able to dip into the materials on this site whenever you
Hypnosis is a state of mind whereby the unconscious or subconscious mind is left
unguarded by the conscious mind. This can be a very useful state in therapy as the
unconscious mind is then highly open to the beneficial suggestions which may normally
be rejected by the conscious mind.
Hypnosis can be induced intentionally or unintentionally in a number of ways:
Anyone who drives or sits in boring meetings knows that monotony can cause you to
go off into a “trance”
High emotion such as fear can also induce hypnosis
Occupying the conscious mind with a concentrated task such as reading
Confusing the conscious mind
A hypnotherapist uses these phenomena to induce hypnosis in a therapy session.
Anyone with the ability to follow simple instructions can be hypnotized if they want
Although the recordings use the word “relaxed” numerous times it is not necessary
to be relaxed for the beneficial suggestions to be accepted by the unconscious mind.
About hypnosis for pregnancy and birth
In a spontaneously induced fearful or apprehensive hypnotic state, it is easily possible
for non-helpful suggestions to be absorbed by the unconscious mind. This is particularly
noticeable in pregnancy when a new mum-to-be may fully believe, without question,
the scare stories that are thrown her way. Inevitably, these beliefs cause stress
and fear in the mum-to-be.
